About the Program

  • Pathway is a 9-month cross-cultural internship in Spain for young adults (ages 20–30) who want to grow in their faith, discover their calling, and gain real ministry experience while living in community.

  • In beautiful Antequera, Málaga, Spain — a historic city in the heart of Andalucía, surrounded by mountains, Moorish castles, and vibrant Spanish culture.

  • 9 months — September through June. You'll start the fall with team building and training and finish the program equipped for life and mission in any context God calls you to.

  • Spiritual formation, language and cultural immersion, hands-on ministry experience, mentorship, and GREAT memories! You'll grow in your love for Jesus, gain tools for cross-cultural engagement that are applicable for any calling, and experience the beauty of Spain — including walking part of the Camino de Santiago!

  • You’ll serve alongside local believers in a post-Christian context—engaging youth, young adults, and communities through relational evangelism, discipleship, and church planting initiatives.

  • You’ll participate in trainings in a cohort with 2-5 other interns and receive personal, one-on-one mentoring from experienced ministry leaders from TMS Global who are passionate about helping you grow spiritually and step boldly into your calling.

  • Yes! We’re happy to work with your school to meet internship or practicum requirements. It’s your job to do the work and set that up, but let us know what’s required and we’ll do our best to work with you!

Application & Selection Process

  • Young adults ages 20–30 from any country who love Jesus and want to grow in faith, explore their calling, and engage in cross-cultural ministry.

You don’t need to speak Spanish to apply, but if you already know some, it will definitely be helpful! (If you are not already fluent, Spanish language lessons will be built into your weekly schedule.)

  • Start by filling out the interest form! From there, we’ll connect with you to guide you through the application, interview, and onboarding process. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but space is limited—early is best! The application deadline is January 15 for the Pathway program starting each September. This allows enough time for the interview process, fundraising (if desired), and visa paperwork.

  • We’re not looking for perfection—we’re looking for teachable, humble people who are hungry to grow in their relationship with Jesus. If that’s you, we want to hear from you! However, space is limited and we are currently accepting 2-5 interns for each Pathway cohort.

  • That’s no problem—this program is designed to help you discern next steps! Pathway is a safe, guided space to explore what God might be calling you to, whether that’s cross-cultural missions, local church ministry, or marketplace impact back “home”.

  • No. You do not need to speak Spanish to apply for the program. We’ll help you learn as you go through language classes and immersion. Some of the trainings will be in Spanish as part of the immersion experience. If you already know conversational Spanish, that’s a huge bonus—but fluency is not a requirement.
